Dashboard Explained

Studio-wide KPI snapshot on a single screen. Business Overview is the starting point for any leadership check-in — it surfaces the headline numbers across invoiced revenue, WIP, debtors and prior-year growth so you can confirm the studio is on track before drilling into any detail page.

How to use it

Open Business Overview first every Monday morning. Scan the six KPI tiles — if invoiced revenue or recovery is off, you'll know before you've opened a single project report. Use the prior-year overlays to contextualise whether a slow month is seasonal or a genuine trend. Once you've confirmed the headlines, move into Business Performance or Revenue Analysis for the office-level breakdown.

Understanding your data

Key Fields

How it's Calculated

Invoiced Revenue

Total value of invoices with a Finalised status for the selected period, grouped by invoice date and office

WIP Balance

Accumulated value of chargeable time and costs that have been recorded in timesheets but not yet included in a finalised invoice

Debtor Balance

Total amount owed by clients from invoices that have been raised and finalised but not yet paid

Recovery %

Invoiced revenue divided by total charge generated for the same period, expressed as a percentage. Shows what proportion of chargeable work was converted into invoiced revenue

Gross Profit %

Invoiced revenue minus total staff costs (hours × cost rate per staff member), divided by invoiced revenue. Excludes billable WIP from the calculation

Average Hourly Rate

Total invoiced revenue for the period divided by the total chargeable hours associated with those invoices. Reflects the blended rate achieved across all offices
