Dashboard Explained
Side-by-side comparison of recovery, profitability, hourly rate and revenue charge across offices. Business Performance shows which offices are converting time into invoiced revenue efficiently and which are leaking value — the core tool for cross-office leadership conversations.
How to use it
Use Business Performance in monthly leadership reviews. Sort by recovery to immediately surface which office is underperforming. Switch Slice By to PM to identify whether underperformance is a portfolio-level issue or concentrated in one person's projects. The gap between revenue charge and invoiced revenue reveals whether an office is accumulating unbilled work — if that gap is growing, investigate WIP before it ages.
Understanding your data
Key Fields | How it's Calculated |
Charge Generated | Total value of chargeable time entries recorded across all projects and staff for the period (hours × charge rate per staff member) |
Invoiced Revenue | Total value of finalised invoices with an invoice date in the selected period, split by office |
Recovery % | Invoiced revenue as a percentage of total charge generated. Shows what proportion of chargeable work was converted into invoiced revenue |
Gross Profit % | Invoiced revenue minus total staff costs (hours × cost rate), divided by invoiced revenue. Measures margin after direct labour costs |
Average Charged Rate | Total charge amount for the period divided by total chargeable hours. Reflects the blended hourly rate achieved across all staff and projects |
Revenue Charge | The charge value (cost basis of time) associated specifically with invoiced work — the direct labour amount behind each invoice |
Staff Rate Name | The fee rate category assigned to each staff member in Total Synergy (e.g. Senior Architect, Graduate). Used to slice performance by role or grade |
