Improved Top Navigation

Detailed breakdown of the changes made to the Top Navigation in Synergy.

We’ve introduced a refreshed, modernised top navigation that brings consistency and improved usability across Synergy.

This update builds on the new side and project navigation released in 2025, making it faster and easier to find what you need in Synergy, and now provides a seamless connection between global and page-level navigation.

With cleaner visuals and quicker access to key tools, the new navigation lets you move through Synergy faster and more effortlessly.


Search - Now On The Left

Search remains unchanged in functionality, but is now positioned on the left side of the top navigation.
This keeps all navigation tools in the same area, making it easier to jump between pages.


Notifications – Cleaner and Easier to Manage

Notifications has been reskinned with a more modern layout and improved clarity.

Key enhancements:

  • “Unread only” toggle allows you to filter the list to show only unread notifications.

  • More options (“…”) menu includes:

    • Mark all as read

    • Notification Settings

  • Only notifications from the last 30 days are shown, keeping your list focused on recent activity.

  • Notification updates - the notification counter will automatically refresh every minute, keeping you up to date with new notifications.


Timers – Clearer and Simple Time Creation

Timers has been redesigned to make it easier to start tracking time, understand recent activity, and restart older timers.

Highlights:

  • A new Add timer button opens a panel with all timesheet fields.

    • None of these fields are required to start a timer.

  • Timers are now grouped into four sections:

    • Running timers

    • Today

    • Last 7 Days

    • Older

  • Today’s timers show a total time summary so you can see how much time has been recorded today.

  • Only timers created or used within the last 30 days are retained.

All existing timesheet behaviour remains the same — timers must still be added to the timesheet to be recorded.


My Work – A New Home For Your Personal Tools

My Work is a new section designed to help you quickly access the items related to your own work.

This menu includes:

  • To-dos

  • Notes

  • My Docs (previously “My Documents”)

  • My Portals

  • Leaderboard

These items have moved out of the Profile Menu and now live in a dedicated area for easier access.


Profile Menu – Simplified and Renamed

Your profile menu is still located at the far right of the top navigation.

It now contains:

  • Profile Settings (renamed from “Edit Profile”)

  • My Availability

  • Language Settings

  • Log Out
