Edition: Business + Insights Pro add-on, Enterprise + Insights Pro.
User-Level: System Administrator
Insights Pro is Total Synergy's business intelligence solution, purpose-built for architecture, engineering and construction firms. It replaces Analytics Plus with 52 dashboards across six modules — Business, Finance, Projects, Sales, Resources and Planning — drawing directly from the data your practice already captures in Total Synergy.
First Time Configuration
The first time you use Insights Pro requires some initial configuration.
Upon being turned on initially, Insights Pro dashboards are disabled for every user, and a System Administrator will be required to establish which dashboards specific access levels should have access to.
Configuration
The Configuration tab controls firm-wide settings that affect how metrics are calculated. Set these before opening access to any dashboards. These include:
Financial Year Start Month: set this to the month your financial year commences to have your dashboards reflect this.
Utilisation: specify what you want the utilisation formulas to include:
Total Hours, or Contract Hours
Include Leave, or without leave (untick)
Project Snapshot: define whether you wish to show profitability recovery or both in your project snapshot.
Click Save Changes.
Failing to set the correct financial year means every FYTD figure across the Business module will be incorrect.
Go to Insights Configuration:
Organisation Settings > Organisation > Insights
(Default) Configuration tab
Enabling Dashboards
Before any user can start viewing dashboards in Insights Pro, a System Administrator must enable each dashboard per Security Access Level in Synergy.
It is recommended to have an internal discussion about the requirements and access to data for each Security Access Level to ensure you're not overwhelming staff with data that is not relevant to their role.
Go To Insights Permissions:
Organisation Settings > Organisation > Insights
Click the Permissions tab
Enable the dashboard by ticking the boxes against the Dashboard name and required Access Levels
Click Save Changes
Note: Custom Access Levels (Enterprise Only) will also be listed and require dashboards to be enabled based on the specific Custom Access Level.
