Within Synergy HR you have the ability to set up multiple leave policies for different purposes. Having policies that cover every type of leave helps you get better reporting and transparency over where your people are and when. Instead of drawing out of one leave bucket, you and your staff are able to create the relevant leave/unavailability entries that will draw out of a pre-determined number of days/accrual cycle for each policy. You can set up your policies by clicking on the Organisation menu > Settings > Organisation > Synergy HR > Leave Policies > Create new policy.
Use the annual leave policy type to create your company's/region's holiday pay allowance and apply it to all relevant staff members.
Use the bereavement policy type to create your company's compassionate/bereavement leave allowance and apply it all relevant staff members. Bereavement leave provides time off to an employee following the death of a family member or friend.
Use the parental leave policy type to create your company's parental leave policy. This applies to employees who are going to give birth, the spouses or de facto partners of employees who are going to give birth or employees who adopt a child under the age of sixteen. Parental leave policies differ between workplaces.
Use the public holiday leave policy type to create your company or regions public holiday policy and apply it all relevant staff members.
Time off in lieu
Use the time off in lieu policy type to create your company's policy regarding paid time off work instead of getting paid for additional hours worked above an employee's normal contracted hours. Apply this policy to all relevant staff members.
Use the without pay policy type to create your company's policy regarding unpaid leave. Apply this policy to all relevant staff members.
Use the personal/carers leave policy type to create your company's policy regarding personal leave which may include sick/wellness leave and carer's leave. Apply this policy to all relevant staff members.
These are all the policy types that Synergy HR allows you to create your company's customised policies with.
