Restrict to stage specific tasks for timesheets

Allowing staff to log time against company wide standard tasks

Previous steps:

When entering a timesheet, you need to select a project, stage and task. Synergy allows you to create a list of standard timesheet tasks that can apply to any stage of a project. By restricting tasks, you can prevent staff from using these standard tasks and ensure they only enter time against tasks created under the specific stage in the work breakdown.


How to restrict timesheets to specific tasks

  1. Organisation menu > Projects

  2. Open the project you want to edit

  3. Project menu > Plan > Work breakdown

  4. Select the edit pencil to the right of the stage you want to restrict to specific tasks > View details

  5. Check the 'restrict to specific tasks' checkbox

  6. Save in the top right-hand corner & save again in the top right of the WBD

  • If unchecked, this option allows staff to enter in their timesheets both the custom tasks entered in this work breakdown and the standard timesheet tasks.

  • If checked, then staff can only enter in their timesheets the custom tasks entered in this work breakdown.
