Use the WIP Transfer feature to move transactions between stages on the same project, or to a different project.
A single WIP transaction can also be split allowing you to transfer part of that transaction to a different stage or project. (*Business & Enterprise only).
Transfer WIP
To transfer WIP, open the Project with the WIP transactions that need to be transferred.
Click the Project drop down > Financials > Transactions.
WIP can be transferred when in View: Default or View: WIP.
Tick each transaction that requires transferring.
Click the ellipses button at the top left of the Transactions screen.
Select WIP Transfer to select the project and stage.
Transfer to another stage in the same project:
Go to: Project > Transactions tab > View:WIP.
Tick the checkbox against each transaction row that you want to move.
Click the ellipses at the top left and select the 'WIP transfer' option.
The project drop-down defaults to show the project you currently have open.
From the Stage drop down list, select the new stage that you want to transfer the selected transactions to.
A different task can be selected if needed. The current transaction tasks will be retained when 'Keep existing tasks is selected'.
NOTE: If the selection includes a Cash, Travel, or Bill transaction, the 'Task' field will not be displayed.Click Transfer.
The transactions are moved to the selected stage and/or task.
Transfer to another project by:
Go to: Project > Transactions tab > View:WIP
Tick the checkbox against each transaction row that you want to move.
Click the ellipses at the top left and select the 'WIP transfer' option
The project drop-down defaults to show the project you currently have open. Select the project that you want to send the transactions to using the Project drop-down list.
Select the new stage that you want to send the transactions to from the Stage drop-down list.
A different task can be selected if needed. The current transaction tasks will be retained when 'Keep existing tasks is selected'. NOTE: If the selection includes a Cash, Travel, or Bill transaction, the 'Task' field will not be displayed.
Click Transfer
The transactions are moved to the new project and stage that was selected.
Transfer part of a transaction (Split WIP):
Go to: Project > Transactions tab > WIP view
Tick the checkbox against the transaction that needs to be partially transferred to a new project or stage.
Click the ellipses at the top left and select the 'WIP transfer' option.
Use the drop down list to select either the stage, or project and stage that you want to transfer the transaction to.
A Transfer field is shown. "All" is displayed as the default, along with the number of transaction units in brackets.
To split the transaction units, click the down arrow and select Split from the drop-down.
Transactions can be split by entering the number of units, or a percentage.
If units are entered, the % split is calculated and displayed.
If a percentage is entered, the units will be calculated and displayed. The $ value of the transaction that will be created by the split process is shown in the WIP transfer box at the bottom right.Click Transfer to complete the split and move the newly created transaction to the selected Project, Stage, or Task.
Tips:
If the stage selected has a status of 'Complete' or 'Unsuccessful' then the transactions will be written-off as part of the WIP transfer.
If the stage has a fee type of 'No billing' then the transactions will be written-off as part of the WIP transfer.
If the transactions have the status 'Invoiced' you will be unable to transfer them to another project or stage.
If the transaction was on a non-utilised Task, and transferred to a Utilised one, it will become utilised, and vice versa.
