Adding & Editing Write-off Reason Codes.

Create, edit, and delete reason codes for Write-offs.

Write-off reason codes allow you to report on why transactions have been written off.


How to create reason codes

  1. Go to Organisation drop down > Settings > Project lists > Reason Codes.

  2. Select 'Add' in the top right hand corner

  3. Determine a code and description for the the write off reason code.

  4. *Optional* check the default check-box and this will be selected by default when writing off transactions. S

  5. elect 'Add' in the bottom right hand corner.


Edit WIP reason codes

  1. Go to organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Reason Codes.

  2. Hover over the write-off transaction code and select the edit pencil.

  3. Edit the code or description.

  4. Select the tick on the right of the code to save.


How to delete reason codes

If you haven't used the write off reason code, you can delete it following the steps below

  1. Go to organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Reason Codes

  2. Hover over the reason code you want to delete, select the '...' on the right > delete.

  3. Click the 'delete' button on the confirmation page.

Reason codes will now be deleted.


How to set a reason code as inactive

Set the write off reason code as inactive if it has been used before, this will no longer be available when writing off transactions.

  1. Go to organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Reason Codes.

  2. Hover over the write-off transaction code and select the edit pencil.

  3. Un-check the active check box.

  4. Select the tick on the right to save.


Set inactive WIP Write-Off Reason Code as Active

If you have set a reason code as inactive by accident, you can make them active again following the steps below.

  1. Go to organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Reason Codes.

  2. Hover over the write-off transaction code and select the edit pencil.

  3. check the 'Active' checkbox.

  4. Select the tick on the right to save.
