We’ve got some exciting months ahead and are pleased to share what’s coming next. This is the page to bookmark to stay up to date on the latest release features and dates.

With several significant and much anticipated updates planned, this will help you stay informed and prepare your organisation for what’s ahead.


Release Schedule - Q1 2026

Proposed timings are depicated below but are subject to change. You will be notified via an in-app message one week prior of any major change.

Each feature/functionality will be rolled out in two phases:

  • Early Access: Limited to a select group of customers or ‘beta testers’ who provide feedback on the initial release of new features and functionality.

  • General availability: When a feature or functionality will be available for all users of Synergy. This is up to 4 weeks later to allow time to incorporate the feedback of your peers into the general release.

To help you plan for the change, we can provide access in advance to your UAT environment so you can explore the new features in a cached replica of your production setup. To request access, simply email customersuccess@totalsynergy.com

Updates are not limited to what’s detailed here. There will also be minor bug fixes and enhancements including API endpoints. Change log can be accessed here.


Synergy Analytics/Analytics Plus (PowerBI Dashboards) - Now available!

Now collectively referred to as 'Insights'.

Dashboards have outgrown their old home. Most firms rely on them to check capacity, workload, billability, and financial health so we’ve moved them into their own dedicated space, Insights, in the side navigation.

Here’s what’s new:

  • “People” is now “Resources”. A simple rename, but an important one to aligns with how A&E teams talk about staffing, utilisation, and capacity planning.

  • Sticky filters: Every dashboard now keeps your filter preferences on that device. No more reselecting dates, teams, or project types every… single… time.

  • Ability to Bookmark or Share dashboards: Each dashboard now has a unique URL allowing users to Bookmark your go-to reports or share them with the team, especially handy for weekly stand-ups, PM reviews, or board packs.

Top Navigation

We’re updating Synergy’s top navigation to make it faster and more intuitive for busy project teams. This update will bring consistency across Synergy to provides a seamless connection between the new global navigation and and project navigation released in 2025, making it faster and easier to find what you need in Synergy.


Global Search

The new Global Search turns the search bar into a true navigation tool. Built to speed up A&E workflows, it gets you where you need to go in a couple of keystrokes instead of clicking around.

It will enable you to search in new more intuitive ways:

  • By keywords – Use things like project numbers, invoice numbers, or contact names.
    Example: “HB0078” or “Invoice 12345”

  • By context – Ask for what you need in plain language.
    Example: “Completed projects” or “Invoices for Client A”

  • By meaning – Search naturally, like you would ask a colleague.
    Example: “Projects started this year” or “Overdue invoices for Project ABC”

You'll find things faster with results more forgiving of typos and variation.


Xero Payroll Integration

The first release of our Payroll Integration with Xero is designed to help finance teams transfer approved Synergy timesheets and leave into Xero with fewer steps and greater accuracy. Includes:

• A new Xero Payroll connection in Organisation Settings
• A simple Connect to Xero flow using OAuth authentication
• New Payroll Setup for mapping Synergy timesheet and leave categories to Xero
Payroll equivalents
• Support for syncing approved timesheets and approved leave
• A manual Preview & Run workflow to sync a selected date range
• A new Sync History log showing successes, partial syncs, and skipped entries

This is the first step toward a cleaner payroll process and the foundation for deeper payroll automation in future releases. It will be rolled out in phases by region starting with Australia.
