Dashboard Explained
Contracted backlog (residual) value tracked month by month, by slice. Backlog Evolution is a leading indicator of future revenue — it shows whether the pipeline of contracted work is growing, stable, or declining.
New in Insights Pro: This dashboard did not exist in Analytics Plus.
How to use it
Review Backlog Evolution monthly in leadership meetings alongside Book to Burn. If backlog is trending down for a specific slice, that's an earlier warning than waiting for the revenue impact to show up. Drill from Slice into individual Project rows in the table to see which specific projects make up the residual. There's no Added/Consumed movement breakdown on this page — for the ratio of backlog to burn rate, use the Forward Loading figure on Planning Overview instead.
