What is MYOB Connect history and skipped records?

The history tab in MYOB Connect keeps track of what information has been imported or exported to MYOB. This allows you to keep track of when each sync was run, which Synergy user ran the sync and when. The time each Connect sync took to complete is recorded. Expand a sync results row to see a list of all the records sent to MYOB. This can be useful if you are troubleshooting MYOB and need to find out when a particular item was sent. If a record is missing from a sync results then check the skipped records tab.

The skipped records tab is where all the items excluded from the sync are listed. Items can be skipped because the user knew the data was not ready to go to MYOB, or because there was an error showing on screen that they needed to resolve. Using the skipped records tab the user can add the items back into the next sync to MYOB.

Details available

History

The Connect history tab keeps track of when each sync to MYOB was run, which user ran the sync, and what information was transferred.

When you open the history tab for Connect the following details are shown on each sync report row:

  • Who ran the sync - The name entered on the users staff record is shown.

  • When the sync was run - The date and time that the sync was run by that user.

  • Processed records - The number of items that successful transferred to MYOB. These items can be invoices, credit notes, invoice payments, invoice contacts, jobs, bills, staff expenses, or supplier contacts.

  • Failed records - The number of items that failed to be transferred to MYOB. These items can be invoices, credit notes, invoice payments, invoice contacts, jobs, bills, staff expenses, or supplier contacts.

  • Sync duration - This shows how many minutes or seconds that the sync took to run and process all the records. This lets you see the average time each sync takes to run to send your Synergy data to MYOB.

Tips:

  • If a sync run contains failed items the entire row is shown in red.

  • Click on a row to expand it to see the details of the items that were processed, or failed in that sync run.

  • The last 10 sync sessions or sync runs are shown in the history tab by default.

Expand any sync row to see the details of the particular sync. Each sync to MYOB can transfer the following items:

  • Invoices

  • Credit notes

  • Invoice contacts

  • Jobs

  • Invoice payments (Import or export)

  • Bills

  • Staff expenses (cash and travel)

  • Supplier contacts

The image below shows an example of details that have been sent to MYOB.

Tip: An audit of the settings applied for the sync is kept on the settings tab in Connect.

Skipped records

Use this skipped records tab to see which items have been skipped, and add them back to the next sync run.

The items can be skipped from within the Preview tab. Some rows are linked and if one is skipped, then the other must also be skipped. For example if the invoice line is skipped then the invoice payment that is being exported to MYOB must also be skipped. Items are often skipped in the preview window when it shows an error that the user has to go and resolve. The user can also manually select to skip the items from the current sync when they know they are incomplete.

When you adjust the export from date forward, items in this tab that are earlier than the export from data will not be shown. This list only shows the items that are skipped in the current export from period.

  1. Open the MYOB Connect > Skipped records tab.
