Submitting Feedback

Contributing to Total Synergy with your feedback.

Edition: All

User-level: All

Feedback Portal Overview

Our feedback portal, powered by Pendo Listen, is where we collect and manage your feedback. It replaces the Feedback Forum, which was powered by UserVoice. It's designed to make it easy for you to share your feedback, vote on product ideas and see what other Total Synergy users are asking for. Your voice helps shape the future of Total Synergy.

Submitting feedback or voting on an Idea helps us understand what matters to you. Every piece of feedback is read and helps shape our research and priorities, though we can’t say in advance what will be built or when.

Getting Started with the Feedback Portal

Here's what you can do:

  • Browse the Ideas other users are asking for, grouped by theme.

  • Vote on the Ideas that matter to you.

  • Submit feedback about areas and feature of Synergy, tell us what would make improve the functionality, or what would help your workflow.

  • See the feedback you and your colleagues have submitted, and the Ideas you've voted on, under My priorities.

Comments aren't available on the portal. To add your voice to an Idea, vote on it or submit feedback.

Key Updates / Changes

If you used the Feedback Forum before, here is what has changed.

  • Terminology: A key change to understand is the change in what an Idea is.
New submissions in user voice were referred to as Ideas, in Pendo Listen they will be referred to as Feedback.

An Idea in Pendo is a collection of related feedback for an area or feature of Synergy.

  • New location. The portal now lives inside Total Synergy, behind the Feedback link in the footer. It replaces the UserVoice site.

  • One login. You use the Total Synergy account you're already signed in with. There's no separate login and no permission prompt on your first visit.

  • Everything came across. Every idea, vote and request from UserVoice has been imported. Ideas became Feedback and are now grouped into themed Ideas, organised in tabs and sections, so similar ideas sit together instead of being spread across many separate entries.

  • Feedback goes to our Product team. They review what you submit and link it to an Idea. Once it's linked, your feedback is visible on that Idea to you and the other users in your organisation. Users from other organisations can't see it. Synergy's Product team will manage the Ideas shown on the portal.

  • My priorities replaces your profile page. You'll find your votes and your organisation's feedback there. Update emails are sent by our Product team when an Idea moves forward.

How to Access the Feedback Portal

  1. Sign in to Total Synergy.

  2. Scroll down to the footer and select Feedback.
It sits next to Privacy policy and Get help.

  3. The Submit Feedback page opens inside Total Synergy. It has a short summary of how it works, with the portal below it.

You need to be signed in to Total Synergy to vote and submit feedback.

My priorities

The My priorities tab is on the right of the portal's tabs. It replaces the profile page you had on the Feedback Forum.

  • Track feedback: see the feedback you've submitted and the feedback submitted by other users in your organisation. You can't see feedback from other organisations.

  • Follow your votes: find the Ideas you've voted on.

There are no notification settings to manage. When an Idea your feedback is linked to moves forward, you may receive an update email from our Product team.

Submitting Feedback on the Feedback Portal

Searching for an Existing Idea

Before submitting new feedback, check if an Idea has already been created that relates to it.

  1. Use the Search box at the top of the portal to look for similar Ideas, for example "invoice" or "timesheet".

  2. Or browse by theme. Select a tab to see the Ideas on that theme. Each tab is split into sections. For example, the Financials tab has sections such as Invoicing and Rates.

  3. Review the results to see if your request already exists.

  4. If you find a match, vote on it instead of submitting new feedback.

Tip: Use the Filter button to narrow the list of Ideas.

Submitting New Feedback

If you can't find an Idea that covers your request, follow these steps:

  1. Select Submit Feedback at the top right of the portal. A short form opens.

  2. Enter a Title (required). Write a clear, concise summary of what you want, for example "Reminders for late timesheets".

  3. Under What problem are you trying to solve? (required), describe your goal and what is getting in the way. Include what you want to see, why it matters (for example, how it would improve your workflow, save time or solve a specific challenge), and any examples or use cases.

  4. Choose the Importance (required): Must have or Nice to have.

  5. Select Submit. You'll see a confirmation message.

Example: Sam is a project manager. She opens the Feedback page and searches for "timesheet reminders". Nothing covers what she needs, so she selects Submit Feedback, adds a short title and describes how late timesheets hold up her team's invoicing. She marks it as Must have and submits it.

Notes:

  • Be as specific as possible about the problem your request solves and how it benefits you or other users.

  • Submit feedback based on one area or feature at a time. It makes it easier for us to group and count your feedback.

  • Once your feedback is linked to an Idea, other users in your organisation can see it.

  • Don't include personal or confidential information such as client names or financial figures.

Engaging with Existing Ideas

  • Vote: Support Ideas you believe are valuable. Voting helps us see which Ideas matter most to our users and informs our research and prioritisation.

  • Submit feedback: If an Idea is close to what you need but doesn't cover your situation, submit feedback describing your problem. Once it's linked to the Idea, it's visible there.

Idea Statuses

An Idea's status shows where it is. It isn't a commitment to build the Idea or a delivery date. Right now we use two statuses, and we'll add more over time.

Status

What it means for you

Received

We've received this request and it feeds into our research. Work on it hasn't started and it isn't scheduled.

In development

Work on this Idea is in progress.

Only Ideas that are actually being worked on show In development.

All other Ideas show Received.

What Happens Next?

Once you submit feedback, here's what to expect:

  1. Review: Our Product team reviews your feedback and its impact.

  2. Linking: Where an Idea fits, Product links your feedback to it, so related feedback is counted together. Once linked, it's visible on that Idea to you and the other users in your organisation.

  3. Updates: You may not get an individual reply. Where your feedback is linked to an Idea, you may receive an update email when that Idea's status changes.

Feedback and votes help us understand problems and decide what to research. They don't guarantee that we will build something, and we can't commit to dates.

FAQs

Setup and Access

Do I need a separate login?
No. Use the Total Synergy account you're already signed in with.

Why can't I see the Feedback link?
The Feedback link is in the footer of Total Synergy. Make sure you're signed in and scroll to the bottom of the page. If you still can't see it, contact Support via the Support widget.

Is the Feedback Forum (UserVoice) still available?
No. UserVoice is no longer available. Use the Feedback page in Total Synergy instead.

What happened to my UserVoice ideas and votes?
Every idea, vote and request from UserVoice has been imported. Related requests are now grouped into themed Ideas. A small number of one-off requests aren't shown as Ideas on the portal, but we still have them so they may be included in future Ideas.

Using the Portal

Should I submit feedback or vote on an existing Idea?
Search first. If an Idea already covers your request, vote on it. If it doesn't, submit new feedback.

Can I comment on an Idea?
No. Comments aren't available. You can vote on an Idea or submit feedback.

Who can see the feedback I submit?
Our Product team can see it. Once it's linked to an Idea, you and the other users in your organisation can see it on that Idea and under My priorities. Users from other organisations can't see it, and you can't see theirs.

Will someone reply to my feedback?
You may not get an individual reply. Our Product team reads all feedback and links it to Ideas. If your feedback is linked to an Idea, you may receive an update email when that Idea moves forward.

Why do most Ideas show Received?
Received means we've got the request and it feeds into our research. Only Ideas that are actually being worked on show In development.

Will my feedback be built?
We can't promise that. Feedback and votes are an important input to our research and prioritisation, but they don't guarantee delivery, and we can't commit to dates.

Can I use the portal to report a bug or get support?
No. The portal is for feedback to let us know how we can improve the every day use of Synergy. If something isn't working, contact Support.

Where do I go if I have urgent feedback or a question about the move?
Contact customersuccess@totalsynergy.com and we'll be happy to help.
