Synergy now allows you to add dependencies to your stages to help you visualise relationships between stages on the schedule board. When the start or end of a predecessor or successor stage changes, the dates of the dependent stage in your schedule will automatically update to reflect the change. This feature is designed to help you manage your projects more efficiently and is available only to our Enterprise customers.
What type of dependencies does Synergy support?
We’re keeping our dependency relationships simple with just 2 types of relationships – predecessors and successors.
Predecessor stage: the stage that needs to be completed before a given stage.
Successor stage: the stage that should commence after a given stage
A given stage can only have one predecessor but can have up to 5 successors at any one time.
How do I add a dependency to my stage?
On the schedule board, select a stage to reveal the right-hand panel to see configuration options.
Then hover your cursor over the stage to reveal the dependencies associated to this stage.
Select the dependency icon to show the arrow relationships static on screen. This will be helpful if you wish to see all dependencies applied to your stages across the project.
How can I tell if my stage has a dependency?
The dependency icon will appear on your schedule if dependencies are configured on your project.
Tip: This icon will expose dependencies on visible stages. You may need to select this tick icon to reveal all stages.
What is the maximum number of dependencies on a stage?
Synergy allows you to add one predecessor and up to 5 successors relationships on a stage.
Select ‘Add new successor’ to add another stage as a successor.
Ability to see phases in stage selector
Synergy now shows phases in dependencies for their corresponding stages. This is extremely useful in a scenario where you have two stages by the same name but under different phases.
