Using Custom Project Statuses

How to use project custom statuses.

Create custom project statuses that slot into Synergy’s default status types (Proposal, Active, Pending Invoice, Hold, Unsuccessful and Complete) to be able to track the steps in your project workflow.


Adding Custom Project Statuses

  1. Go to the main organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Status

  2. Click ‘Add’ in the top right corner.

  3. Type the 'Name' of the custom status to be shown in drop down lists and reports (Example: Review)

  4. Select the Status type that the custom status will be linked to (Example: Review to fall under Proposal)

  5. Click ‘Save’ to save this custom status or clik the down arrow button and select ‘Save and close’.

NOTE: Enter a likelihood percentage (Proposal status type only) to reflect the percentage chance of winning this work. This will be used in the project weighted forecast reports to adjust the forecast fee values.

Editing Custom Project Statuses

  1. Go to the main organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Status

  2. Click the ‘pencil icon’ at the end of the custom project status row and select 'Edit'.

  3. Update the 'Name' of the custom status to be shown in drop down lists and reports.

  4. Click ‘Save’ to update the existing custom project custom.

Filtering on Custom Project Statuses

  1. Go to the main organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Status.

  2. Click the magnifying glass icon to:

    • Filter and search custom project statuses by type

    • View active, inactive and all custom project statuses

  3. Return to the default view by choosing the Clear button in the search bar

  4. Custom project statuses can aslo be selected as ilters from the following screens:

    1. Project List

    2. Project Planning Board


    3. Revenue Forecast Planning Board

  5. Project Profitability Board

Hiding Custom Project Statuses

  1. Go to the main menu organisation menu > Settings > Project lists > Status

  2. Click the pencil icon at the end of the custom status row of the project custom status and select Edit.

  3. Untick the ‘Active’ box.

  4. Click 'Save' or click the down arrow button and select ‘Save and close’

  5. The custom status will no longer be available to select as a new project or stage status.


Create, update, filter and delete custom project status when appropriate to better track the steps in your project workflow as you go day to day when managing projects.
