Filters on the Planning Boards

Everything you need to know about filtering the planning boards.

Use the filters on the planning boards to refine the project and stage information that's displayed. Filters can be named and saved and you can also save a default filter for each board​ so you can access the project information that you need quickly and easily.

Filter types:


Applying Filters

  1. From the Organisation drop-down menu > Planning Board select any of the three planning boards.

  2. Click on the filter icon and expand the filters you wish to apply.

  3. Select your desired filter options and click ‘apply filter’.

    • Upon applying your filter, you’ll see your search results. The blue dot on the filter icon indicates that filters have been applied.

    • By clicking on the filter icon, you can see which filters have been applied.


Saving & Loading Filters

Once you've created a filter you're happy with, you can save your filter for future use, as well as set a default that will be the primary filter you require.

Save Filters

  1. To save a filter you've put together, click the Save icon.

  2. Give the filter a name you'll remember, if this is what you'd like as your default you can also tick "Set as default" here. Then click "Save Filter".

  3. Continue to do this until you've created any filter you'll need.

Load Filters

  1. Click the Load filter icon, from here you can select which filter you want to apply.

  2. Once you click the Filter, your page will refresh and be applied to your view.

To delete a filter you've created, repeat the steps in Load filters, and click the rubbish bin icon near the filter name.

To set a new Default filter, repeat the steps in Load filters, and click the Star icon near the filter name.


Project Planning

The following filters are available for use on the project planning board:

Cost centre - use this filter to see projects across the selected cost centres.

Discipline - use this filter to see projects across the selected disciplines.

Office - use this filter to see projects for one or more project offices.

Primary team - use this filter to show staff that have the selected team as their primary team.

Project - use this filter to refine the list of displayed projects. Enter all or part of the project name or project number in the filter search box to refine the list of projects to select from.

Project dates - use this filter to see all projects that fall within a specific time frame. You can select either a start date, end date, or both using the date selectors.

Project Manager - use this filter to see all projects for the selected project manager.

Project status - use this filter to see all projects with the selected status.​

Project type - use this filter to see projects with the selected project type.​

Stage manager- use this filter to see all stages within projects for the selected stage manager.

Stage name - use this filter to see all of the stages across different projects with this name. All or part of the stage can be entered in the filter search box.

Stage status - use this filter to see all stages with the selected status.

Team - use this filter to show projects that the selected team or teams has been allocated to.

Unassigned Roles - use this filter to show stages and projects which have a Role with no Staff assigned. You can also specify whether these projects start within the next week, next month, or next quarter.​


Revenue Forecasting

The following filters are available for use on the revenue forecasting board:

Cost centre - use this filter to see projects across the selected cost centres.

Discipline - use this filter to see projects across the selected disciplines.

Office - use this filter to see projects for one or more project offices.

Project - use this filter to refine the list of displayed projects. Enter all or part of the project name or project number in the filter search box to refine the list of projects to select from.

Primary Rate - use this filter to see all staff that have the selected rate as their primary rate.

Primary team - use this filter to show staff that have the selected team as their primary team.

Project - use this filter to refine the list of displayed projects. Enter all or part of the project name or project number in the filter search box to refine the list of projects to select from.

Project Manager - use this filter to see all projects for the selected project manager.

Project type - use this filter to see projects with the selected project type.​

Rate - use this filter to show staff members have the selected rate as their primary or additional rate.

Stage manager- use this filter to see all stages for the selected stage manager.

Stage name - use this filter to see all of the stages across different projects with this name. All or part of the stage can be entered in the filter search box

Stage status - use this filter to see all stages with the selected status.

Team - use this filter to show projects that the selected team or team has been allocated to.

Tips!

Revenue forecast

  • All numbers (project/graph) are filtered based on what you are looking at.

  • Project totals will match the sum of filtered stages under it (the graph at bottom of the screen will match the results).

  • The stage percentage will remain as the percentage of the total project, not the filtered project.

Resource planning

  • Staff level pill colour will remain regardless of the filter applied. This allows you to know if the staff member is over-allocated while making your changes.

  • Staff summary numbers and project level numbers will reflect the filter applied.

  • Totals at bottom of the screen will reflect the filter applied.
