Dashboard Explained

Drill-down utilisation table showing hours by staff member, project and time category. Utilisation Detail is the forensic view — when the summary dashboards raise a question about utilisation, this is where the answer is found.

How to use it

Use Utilisation Detail when investigating a specific staff member's utilisation pattern from the heatmap or trend view. Review the breakdown of chargeable vs non-chargeable hours to understand where their time is going. High non-chargeable hours in internal or admin categories may indicate a workload problem or a timesheet discipline issue. Unallocated hours (available hours with no timesheet entry) indicate incomplete timesheets — these should be addressed before the weekly timesheet approval cycle closes.

Understanding your data

Key Fields

How it's Calculated

Chargeable Hours (by Staff, by Project)

Hours recorded against chargeable project stages in timesheets, attributed to each staff member and the specific project they charged to

Non-Chargeable Hours (by Category)

Hours recorded against non-chargeable activities, broken down by category (e.g. leave, internal, business development, training)

Available Hours (by Staff)

Contracted working hours for each staff member in the period, adjusted for leave and public holidays

Chargeable Utilisation % (by Staff)

Chargeable hours divided by available hours for each staff member in the period

Leave Hours

Hours recorded against leave categories in timesheets. High leave hours reduce available hours and may explain lower utilisation in a given period

Unallocated Hours

Available hours not covered by any timesheet entry — time that has not been accounted for in any category
