Dashboard Explained

Weekly timesheet submission and approval rates by staff member and office. Timesheet Compliance is the discipline tracker — it shows who is submitting on time, who isn't, and whether compliance is improving or worsening across the firm.

How to use it

Review Timesheet Compliance weekly, ideally on Monday morning before starting the approval cycle. Staff with missing timesheets for the prior week should be contacted directly before their time is lost. If approval rate is low, the bottleneck is with managers — ensure that timesheet approval is part of the weekly close process. Persistent non-compliance in specific staff should be addressed with their manager as a performance matter, as missing timesheets directly affect WIP accuracy and utilisation reporting.

Understanding your data

Key Fields

How it's Calculated

Timesheet Submission Rate %

Number of staff who submitted a timesheet for the week divided by total active staff for that week. Measures whether staff are entering their time

Timesheet Approval Rate %

Number of submitted timesheets that have been approved by a manager divided by total submitted timesheets. Measures whether managers are actioning approvals promptly

Timesheet Posting Rate %

Number of approved timesheets that have been posted to the general ledger divided by total approved timesheets. Only posted entries appear in financial and utilisation data

Late Submission Count

Count of timesheets submitted after the firm's defined submission deadline for the week. Identifies chronic late submitters

Missing Timesheets

Active staff members with no timesheet entry for a given week — they have neither submitted nor recorded any time

Compliance by Office

Submission, approval, and posting rates broken down by office, enabling comparison of compliance culture across locations
