How to integrate Zapier with Synergy

Connecting to Synergy from Zapier

Synergy's ability to connect to Zapier allows you to integrate a variety of Synergy triggers and actions primarily (but not limited to) support HR and CRM applications like BambooHR, Salesforce, People HR, BrightHR, SugarCRM, Zoho, Kula Hub, Workable and Pipedrive.


By connecting with Zapier, Synergy users gain access to a broad range of customisable triggers and actions, streamlining workflows and data management across multiple platforms.


Triggers

A Trigger in Zapier is a specific event within an application. When a trigger event occurs in one application, it prompts Zapier to perform an action in another.

The triggers available for Synergy are:

  • New or Updated Contact

  • New or Updated Project

  • New or Updated Project Contact

  • Updated Project Status

  • New or Updated Staff

  • New or Updated Leave

  • New or Updated Approved Leave

Actions

An Action is a specific task that is executed by a Zap after a trigger event occurs. Once a trigger in one application is activated, it prompts Zapier to perform the selected action in another application as part of the automated workflow.

Below is a list of the actions available for Synergy, and the fields available to each one:

Requirements

To connect Synergy to other platforms and take advantage of our triggers and actions, you will require a Zapier account. If you do not have one, you can go here to start a trial: Zapier Sign up.

You will also need to purchase the Premium API addon.

Selecting the Total Synergy application

To find the Total Synergy application within Zapier, you need to first add a trigger or action. Under the App & Event section, search for "Total Synergy", and the Total Synergy application will show. Click to select it.

Authentication through Zapier

After you have selected the Total Synergy application in your trigger or action, you will need to enter your authentication details. These allow the zap to connect to your organisation through the Synergy API.

Click on your action or trigger. Under the Account section, click 'Sign in':

A new window will open, prompting you to enter your API key, and your organisation slug:

API Key

Your API key can be retrieved in your Synergy Profile.

  1. In Synergy, click on the top right menu icon and choose "edit profile"

  2. In your profile page, click the menu ellipsis and choose API key

    1. You will see three different keys available. Each key will have a different expiry time. Choose the key that will most fit the Zap you're building.

  3. Click the Copy link, or select and copy the API key you want to use.

  4. Paste this into the API key field in Zapier.

Organisation Slug

Your organisation slug is your unique organisation identifier. This can be found in the URL after logging into Synergy, at the top of your browser in the address bar, just after 'Organisation':
